London, 2003 - Part II

Like I promised it yesterday … here is the second part of my London pictures =D

Photobucket
It is so beautiful, isn’t it?
I guess, I stood 30 minutes in front of this building and dreamed about the people 200 years ago ^^
Yeah, I know … my fantasy is really distinct XD

Photobucket
I had the luck to see the Horseguard Parade!!! *_*
Men in uniforms and horses makes asti happy \^^/
XD

Photobucket
Awwww, the red double-decker bus *_*

Photobucket
Sooo impressing *_*

Photobucket
I guess that is a part of Westminster Abbey, but I am not sure about it :o

And Westminster Abbey again (yes, I am really in love with this cathedral ^^) … unfortunately the cathedral was too huge for my poor little camera :P

So … and now … be prepared, because you’ll see something really disgusting …

My “HOTELROOM” >_>
And yes, it was really (!) a hotel -.-
I paid 35 Euros for one night with Breakfast. But when I came in the “hotel” and saw all the dirt there I decided not to eat there … and to starve the next three days -_-

Photobucket
The door of my room … hey, it was quite funny, because the door was broken and everytime everyone could enter my room. Sleep wasn’t necessary during my London-Trip … and thanks god, no one came into my room at night

Photobucket
I felt like in a prison cell *shivers*

Photobucket
My very comfortable bed …
With blood spots on the mattress … ;_;

Photobucket
A really nice atmosphere D=
And the TV didn’t work, but that was okay for me.

Photobucket
My little bath … we had a bathroom for twenty rooms on the end of the floor … but the door was completely broken (you couldn’t close the door) and some idiots shat in the bathtub (god, right now I could vomit my lunch … after so much years the memory is still disgusting)

This “hotel” was the most horrible experience I’ve ever made in holidays ;_;

The next time, when I should visit London again … I’ll save a lot of money for the right Hotel. Even when I have to pay 100 Euro the night.

So, that was all from me ^^

Have a nice Saturday :)

Anke~

I had a similar experience with my hotel in Earl's Court the first time I went to London. Clearly the people running it were just trying to make as much money as possible off their teenage guests, and their safety be damned. On the bright side, I did meet a couple of great Swedish rock fans there. Next time I went to London, I got a book beforehand on 'bed & breakfast' places, and stayed at quite nice and affordable ones; I had to take a train to the city, but it was still cheaper. We went on several "ghost walks," which was really fun.

I didn't meet nice people there, because I was always outside of the hotel *laughs*
But it was okay for me, then the most of the "guests" were constantly drunked =/

For the next time I'll choose a better hotel ^^

Hm ... I have to admit, I don't know what "ghost walks" are *blush*

Ghost walk: A guide, who is often an unemployed actor, takes a group of tourists for a walk in the city at night to visit places that are said to be haunted. I loved the "Ghosts of the Theatre" tour, because we went into famous theatres at night when they were empty and spooky and the guide told stories about the great actors of past centuries and how they are supposed to come back as ghosts. There was also a Jack the Ripper walking tour, but I didn't go on it. Anyway, it's a fun way to see the city when most of the crowds are gone, and walk off your supper.

Ah, okay. Thanks for the Info. Sounds really interesting :)
