I don't have any fears that make it hard for me to do something or go somewhere, however spiders larger than a half-inch across are gross (and some of the little bastards have nasty bites!) I get edgy in enclosed spaces; would never work in a cube. The water is not my element, and I've been bumped on the back of my legs by a shark, but I still enjoy swimming and being on a boat, as long as I'm with competent people. I've had close calls with tornadoes, but I'm more annoyed that I have to go to the basement than really scared. Fear for me is all situational - I don't have any dog phobia, but I'm well aware that I'm basically defenseless against any large dog that decides he doesn't like me. What I really dread is any situation that I have no control over or where I might have to fight for survival, like being alone in a car park at night.

Seriously? God, that gives me goosebumps, really. I mean, I like swimming, but only in a pool. I am so scared of deep and open water. I love it to be at the beach, sitting there and watching the people or listening the sound of the waves. But I would never go swimming there.
And a car park at night is horrible. I even avoid car parks at day. I don't know why, but I am extremely afraid of everything.

Yep, a pal and I managed to tip over a Hobie Catamaran near Miami, so I imagine we sent out that 'wounded fish' vibe. We had just gotten the 'cat' upright when I got bumped, and we practically levitated straight up out of the water!
I'll still swim in the ocean, but not early in the morning or near where anyone is fishing (bait smell in water!) We're always playing the odds, and the best we can do is avoid the obviously dumb.
